Critical-Thinking Workbench
Don't just accept — examine. Use these prompts as you work through each row.
1. Test the premise
- Where exactly does Scripture command this rule, vs. where is it inferred?
- Is the cited verse a description, a command, or a poetic reference?
- Could the verse fit more than one calendar model? Why pick this one?
2. Steel-man each calendar
- What is the strongest case for Enoch / Zadok / Hillel?
- Which evidence does each system explain better than the others?
- What anomaly forced its inventors to choose that structure?
3. Stress-test the Scriptural model
- What is the hardest verse against the lunisolar 8/15/22/29 pattern?
- How are the “extra” days (30th + new moon) handled in the weekly cycle?
- Does Exodus 16 manna timing actually require this pattern, or merely allow it?
4. Watch your reasoning
- Am I quoting a verse, or quoting a teacher who quoted a verse?
- Am I confusing “most popular” with “most biblical”?
- Am I confusing “feels obvious” with “textually proven”?
